Artist Statement:
Based in Devon, Pennsylvania, Sal Panasci discovered the healing capabilities of art after enduring a serious car accident, which left him with a traumatic brain injury and permanent vision and cognitive impairments. Bryn Mawr Hospital reintroduced creation as a tool during his rehabilitation, as exemplified in his abstract works. This accident sparked several changes in his life, with the greatest being his shift from advertising to creating fine art full-time.

Education:
Panasci received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of the Arts while it was known as the Philadelphia College of Art. During his time there, he studied under well-known abstract painters Maryann Matlock Hinkle and Kaseem Amoudi. His work has been shown in numerous fine art galleries across the nation and in various international exhibitions, all associated with Art Ability with Main Line Health, an organization that advocates for disabled artists. The National September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York City houses some of his work, as well as the United States Department of State’s “Art in Embassies” program.
