It is a wonderful gift to help capture a scenic memory. I have been working with Joe for more than six years commissioning works. Joe paints from photographs and we request two different image options to drawn inspiration from. Following the purchase - we will reach out to you for the photographs by email. Artist Statement:
Working diligently for over 50 years, Joe Barker’s watercolors depict a whimsical version of beloved landmarks in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Philadelphia as a subject emphasizes the transformative influence the city has had on his life and career. From living and painting on the streets to becoming a published and well-known artist, Barker’s art and faith propel him through all challenges that life presents.

Education:
Joe Barker is as much an integral piece of the Philadelphia artistic community as the community is to him. Locals often reference his impact on the community. Barker has been an artist for his entire life, gaining education through experience. Numerous notable city spaces adorn their walls with his work.
