Artist Statement

My love of art began at an early age and continued through my studies at the Philadelphia College of Art, now the University of the Arts, where I began to develop my voice as an artist. Life eventually took me in another direction as I raised my family, but my connection to painting never left. Ten years ago, I returned to the canvas, and painting has once again become an important part of my life. Today, I divide my time between Philadelphia’s Main Line and Vero Beach, Florida - two places that continually influence the light, color, and landscapes in my work.

My paintings explore color, light, and the emotional experience of landscape. Working primarily in oils, I am drawn to the medium’s richness, texture, and ability to build luminous layers of color. Rather than depicting a landscape exactly as it appears, I use abstraction and unexpected color to capture the feeling of a place - the energy of the sky, the warmth of sunlight, and the quiet sense of being somewhere beautiful.
